"Alana has the perfect balance of sweetness and soul in her voice - strength and power one minute, heart-breaking tenderness the next. She is without a doubt, the real deal. I am thrilled to have been part of her journey along the way." - Peter EldridgeNew York Voices

Bio

You can take the word of Legends in the jazz community but just in case you're still skeptical here's a little more info to squelch any doubt that this artist is in fact, "the real thing". Her career has included recordings with artists such as Keiko Lee (Sony Music Japan), Doug Munro (CMG Records), The McLendon Family, whose 2007 gospel album was produced by award-winning producer Keith Diamond (James Ingram, Donna Summer, Michael Bolton, Billy Ocean) and performances with artists such as Eric BĂ©net, Faith Evans and Angie Stone. After graduating from the Manhattan School of Music with her Bachelor's degree in Jazz Vocal Performance, she joined various gospel choirs where she attained world-wide exposure traveling to Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Russia, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and Germany.

In 2011 Alana had the pleasure of teaming up with Share The Mic and members of Voices of Inspiration (an inspirational vocal group she co-founded), on an important cross cultural mission in Cairo, Egypt. On the heels of an epic revolution in Egypt came the International Festival of Sufi Music & Chanting in which Voices of Inspiration was honored to be the first Africa American participants.

As a solo artist, she has toured Japan, and performed in Panama, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad, and Paris; worked with local artists and producers, including 8-time Grammy winner Jay Newland (Etta James, Norah Jones, Ayo) as a songwriter and a background vocalist. In 2004 she released her first solo project , "Misty".
